The SCEI-HE Master of Teaching (Secondary) is a forward-thinking program that prepares pre-service teachers as autonomous, versatile, and creative secondary educators, developing advanced specialised content knowledge and practical skills in a major and minor learning area to design evidence-based interventions supporting diverse learners aged 12–18 years; it fosters critical engagement with historical and contemporary teaching theories, evolving learning models, innovative curriculum development, teaching methodologies, and digital technology integration in chosen disciplines, while equipping classroom-ready graduates with a holistic skill set—including innovative pedagogies, wellbeing practices, and practitioner research methods—to deliver engaging experiences, manage safe and productive environments, leverage technology to motivate students, address 21st-century challenges and global issues, collaborate in teaching teams, and build effective relationships with students, parents/carers, and the broader school community.
